A Message from our member Kelley Bova

Hello to the Coalition of Natives and Allies,

This is Kelley, a member of CNA. My tribe, Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate, on the Lake Traverse Reservation, has been working tirelessly for the last 6 years to bring home two of our boys: Amos La Framboise and Edward Upright who were taken from my tribe in 1879. Sadly, Amos was the first of many children who died and were buried at Carlisle.

The process to bring the boys home has been arduous. Carlisle Indian Industrial School is now known as the Army War College and their procedure is very demanding. We are now in the final stages and I am humbly asking for your help to bring them home.

I can't stress enough the abuses these children suffered and to finally be able to bring them home, to their homelands and at long last to allow them to be at peace, has been a labor of love for all involved.

Many of my people want to make the over 1200 miles journey to Carlisle and bring them home in our way, traditionally and in Ceremony. Please if you can donate toward the cost of this trip, in any amount, every donation will be appreciated.
